Today Would Have Been Perfect

So I will admit...I'm a little upset right now...ok maybe A LOT upset. I'm sitting here at home. I don't have to work today and the weather is actually pretty nice out. So why am I upset? Vans Warped Tour is going on at Fairplex today. There aren't any bands I wanted to see this year (I don't know who any of them are this year! haha)...and that's kinda why I'm upset...well I have a few more reasons, but I'll get to them in a sec. For the first time in 3 years I'm not there at work...and the weather is NICE outside...it doesn't feel like hell the minute you step outside...and maybe I'm making too big of a deal about it (I obviously keep repeating myself)...but...let's go back to last year, shall we?
Last year I had to work all day. And you know who was playing last year? Relient K. I had wanted to see them for about...oh...7 years? Something like that. Never had the chance. I was super excited cuz I finally had my chance...but then I found out at the last minute I had to work. When I finally got the schedule, (some people from work walked over there to go pick it up) I saw that they were gonna play at 1:50pm. My heart sank. I have to be back from lunch by 2:00pm no matter what. By some miracle I was able to go! A co-worker came with me that day, and we both melted by the time we made it over to where they were gonna play ("Main Stage Right" See! I still remember!) I remember trying to find a shady spot, (and we found one by the sound booth!) but at the same time trying to stay away from the kids who were throwing water bottles. For a brief moment I remember a cool breeze coming our way (which was odd, cuz like I said it was hotter than hell out that day). I can't even describe to you how excited I was. Even though they only played for about 45 mins. and the sound wasn't that great, I was happy that I finally got to see them. (I didn't get to go to the meet and greet later on though...I had to head back to work...)

So I'm upset because I wish Relient K would have played today. Today would have been a perfect day...but they're obviously not there today...so in way I don't really have a reason to be upset. If I could go back in time I'd change the weather.. I'd arrange it so I wouldn't have had to work, and it would have been perfect. But when I look back it was perfect...in most ways. I got to see them for FREE...on my lunch break, AND at work. =)

Well...so maybe I shouldn't complain then...maybe I shouldn't be upset...but it would have been nice to experience Warped Tour on my day off and when it isn't 20 millions degrees outside. At least those poor kids that are there today won't pass out and die! haha! Well, there's always next year!

There is one other reason why I'm upset though...Anberlin isn't there this year. I had wanted to see them in 2007, and last year I had to choose between them and Relient K. This year would have been a perfect year. Ok, I need to stop complaining.

The Fair Fan

I have a been a fan of the LA County Fair since I was a kid. I have so many childhood memories, I won't even bother to list them...(well not right now anyway, I'd have to think about them!). And now that I'm older, I am lucky enough to be able to work at the place that's the home of the LA County Fair...yes, Fairplex. (Have you heard of it? Maybe not...haha) I don't have a "glamorous" job, (I work in the office) but I like working there, it's a lot fun, esp. during fair time. Heck! I'm even there on my days off...usually cuz I'm visiting some other event that's going on there at Fairplex...and during fair I don't work on Sundays, so I take advantage of it! =)

So anyway that's why I wanted to start this blog...so I could write about all my adventures (if you wanna call them that! lol) at the LA County Fair (which is coming up in September!! Excited? You should be!) and at Fairplex. But since I am a FAIR fan, I won't limit myself to only writing about the LA County Fair...I love the OC Fair as well (I am allowed to say that?!) So that's what you'll find in this blog. (Or well, what you'll mostly find are pics of food! Since I am also a foodie...and I love taking pics of food...esp. FAIR FOOD!! Yum!) (Deep fried Pop Tart!)
There will also be some guest bloggers once in awhile, so you'll get to read stuff from them as well (cuz I know you'll get bored with me!)

Anyway I don't have much to write about right now...the last "event" I went to was last Friday, which was the Ed Hardy sample sale. They've had it there like every weekend, for the past month or so...and I heard it's doing pretty well (and I've been to it more than any one person should! It's funny cuz I don't like shopping for clothes and I didn't even know who the heck Ed Hardy was til they starting having those sales at Fairplex! haha)...You should check it out if you are a Ed Hardy fan though, the stuff is freakin cheap! (and NEW!) They have other brands there too like...Paco Chicano...Smet, Crystal Rock...blah blah blah...and I don't remember what else...
So yeah, that's the kind of stuff you'll find in this blog...along with pictures...and maybe later on some videos...and well, I have nothing else interesting to write about right now...so I'm outta here! Later!
